As of the last calendar year we buried just under 11,000 tons of material at the landfill. That amount costs the Village of Los Lunas residents 340,000.
Anything we can do to reduce that cost and the amount we bury is our priority, Montoya said. To keep recyclables out of the landfill, the program needed to find a new way to use the glass.
